Contents
Each capsule contains: Sedative/hypnotic: Butalbital, 50 mg, and analgesic: acetaminophen, 650 mg.
Uses

Treatment of tension headaches.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to butalbital or acetaminophen. Clients with porphyria.

Special Concerns
Use with caution as butalbital is habit-forming and has the potential to be abused. Use with caution in geriatric or debilitated clients, those with severe renal or hepatic dysfunction, and clients with acute abdominal conditions. Safety and efficacy have not been determined in children less than 12 years of age.
Side Effects
See also Sedative-hypnotics and Acetaminophen. The most frequently reported side effects are drowsiness, lightheadedness, sedation, dizziness, SOB, N&V, abdominal pain, and an intoxicated feeling.
