Developed for
the National Guard Bureau, the Digital Mapping
Server website provides access to the following
common functions of managing geospatial information:
- An open source Object-Oriented Database
Management System (OODBMS).
- Portal-type connectivity that
- Establishes a well-defined interface
to numerous Internet-based geospatial
data servers;
- Provides a uniform data format for delivery
of the data to the user;
- Offers user interface tools to rapidly
import and integrate user specified data;
and
- Enables seamless integration of all
data to a common geo-referenced user specified
Area-of-Interest.
- A user interface that utilizes the strength
of OO data structures to support
- Enhanced data query and retrieval for
digital and hard copy presentation;
- Cartographic modeling and statistical
output functions for analyzing geospatial
data; and
- On-the-fly 3D mapping for enhanced situational
awareness.
- An expanding OO framework for tailoring
mission critical functions, data linkage,
spatial analysis, and cartographic design
based on user specifications.
